A really short story about the hardship of having a total egoist as a lover.

KOR is the story of the Kasuga family, but mostly the oldest son, Kyosuke (who narrates), as they move to a new town after being found out to be a family of ESPers. Kyosuke meets a pretty young girl as he counts the "100 steps" (there may only be 99) that lead to his new school and is immediately smitten. However, by the end of the second episode, the pretty young girl, named Ayukawa Madoka (as in Japanese custom, I use the family name first) has agreed to help her best friend Hiyama Hikaru win Kyosuke. Thus, a love triangle is born that lasts for 18 volumes.

L'histoire se situe au Japon pendant l'ère Taisho (1912-1926). Kamado Tanjirou est un jeune vendeur de charbon qui vivait dans les montagnes avec sa famille. Sa vie paisible a été bouleversée quand sa famille a été massacrée par un oni féroce, un démon issu du folklore japonais. Les seuls survivants sont lui et sa sœur Nezuko, transformée en oni par son meurtrier. Pour guérir sa sœur et venger sa famille, ils doivent faire un long voyage. Une aventure épique remplie de combats sanglants débute !

Depuis l'Antiquité, les rumeurs abondent sur des démons mangeurs d'hommes qui se cachent dans les bois. C'est pourquoi les habitants de la ville ne s'aventurent jamais dehors la nuit. Depuis la mort de son père, Kamado Tanjirou a pris sur lui de subvenir aux besoins de sa mère et de ses cinq frères et soeurs. Bien que leur vie soit rendue plus dure par la tragédie, ils ont trouvé le bonheur. Mais cette chaleur éphémère est brisée un jour lorsque Tanjirou découvre que sa famille a été massacrée et que la seule survivante, sa soeur Nezuko, s'est transformée en démon. Pour ajouter à cette tristesse, un chasseur de démons nommé Tomioka Giyuu arrive et est sur le point d'achever Nezuko, mais à sa grande surprise, elle et Tanjiro commencent à se protéger l'un l'autre. Voyant cette bizarrerie et les compétences de combat prometteuses de Tanjiro, Giyuu décide de les envoyer à son ancien mentor pour être formé. Ainsi commence la vie de Tanjiro en tant que chasseur de démons, lié à une quête pour guérir sa sœur et trouver celui qui a assassiné toute sa famille.
