Les deux ninjas, sous forme de chien, doivent le protéger contre les démons, sans qu'il ne découvre, jamais, leurs véritables identités. Malheureusement, dès le début, Mitsuyoshi rencontre Hadzuki sous sa forme humaine lorsque celle-ci le sauve d'une attaque de démons. Désormais, elle doit maintenir séparé, son aspect humain et son aspect animal, dans sa relation avec Mitsuyoshi.
